When we feel that we are being restricted in some way then we want to break out of the shackles that confine us and rebel against the restrictions, this is especially true when we are on a diet. If you are on a diet which makes you cut out everything you enjoy eating and leaves you with only boring food to eat for months on end then unfortunately most people will just crash off it in a few weeks because they miss certain foods too much. If you have a diet which is less restrictive though and allows you some tasty food to keep you interested and even give you some time when you can eat whatever you want (like the Fat Loss 4 Idiots system) then you will stick to it for a lot longer which means you can get good results with it.

I find that going out with friends for meals is always tricky when you are dieting, so these breaks are a fantastic time to do just that and eat whatever food you want. Once the break is over you will find you actually want to go back on the diet and work towards your next break, which is a far cry from what most people feel on other diets!

Something else you can use to keep you motivated and on your diet is to have small goals you are aiming for, and then when you achieve one you celebrate by buying yourself a gift. A good target to start with is half a stone, once you reach that then buy yourself a few new clothes or some kind of gadget that has just come out, and then plan what kind of gift you will be getting once you reach a stone and a half of lost weight etc. Make sure you only reward yourself after you hit the goal though, not when you are near it, as that will keep you pushing hard to get to your target.
